Comment: Examination of transaction involving EasyPark AB and Inteleon AB

The Swedish Competition Authority announced today that it has requested an examination of the transaction involving EasyPark AB and Inteleon AB, the company behind digital parking service SMS Park.

Johan Birgersson, CEO of EasyPark Group, comments on the announcement:

‘We understand that the Competition Authority wants to form an opinion on the industry considering that it has undergone rapid digitisation in recent years, as have many other industries. We are, of course, entirely at the Competition Authority’s disposal for this process and feel confident about our actions.

‘Customers and partners will notice no difference as the process proceeds. As always, both companies will deliver on their respective commitments in the market. For customers and partners who are anticipating the opportunity to utilise the collective range of services, we ask for your patience as we await the results of the Competition Authority’s examination.’

Update,23 March 2020:

Following its in-depth examination, the Competition Authority has decided to take no action in respect of EasyPark’s acquisition of Inteleon.
